Dear Friend of Woodstock Thunder Youth Football and Cheerleading:
We are writing to you asking for your assistance in supporting the hundreds of young people and their families in our community. Woodstock Thunder Youth Football and Cheerleading (WTYFC) was established to provide the youth of our community the opportunity to participate in an organized youth football program prior to the competitive environment of high school football. Programs are in both tackle and flag football. WTYFC's mission is to provide the opportunity for boys and girls between the ages of five and fourteen to learn the fundamentals of football and participate in an organized, competitive program with participants of similar age and size. WTYFC works hard to create an atmosphere where every participant has the opportunity to succeed while making friends and having fun.
WTYFC's tackle football teams compete in The Chicagoland Youth Football League (TCYFL), playing against teams from communities throughout Northern Illinois and Southern Wisconsin.
Our Flag program promotes fun and equal participation in a competitive "house league" environment. We believe that there is a high correlation between the development of life skills that are learned through participation in team sports and success later in life. As such, we emphasize physical fitness and good citizenship based on personal effort, teamwork and good sportsmanship. All costs associated with operating our program, along with participation fees, are derived from donations from community members such as you.
All funds go toward the betterment of the program for our participants, including
equipment, uniforms, field usage / maintenance fees, referees, etc. Also, participants whose families might not otherwise be able to afford the normal fees may qualify for need based scholarships offered by our program and its supporters. WTYFC is operated and managed by a group of dedicated volunteers (directors, coaches, and team helpers) who give their time and efforts to make the program a success.
We appreciate any and all support that we receive from our community. Attached to this letter you will find our WTYFC Donation Form with several suggested levels of support.
